Ahhh… Alanis Morissette brings back memories of my junior high years. The times when I hung beads from my door, screwed a black light bulb into my fan, and rocked out to Alanis with my girlfriends in my room. Ironic was a fav. It popped in my head the other day when I was thinking ‘anything that could go wrong, is going wrong today.’ It’s quite ironic. Or some may call it “Murphy’s Law.” I’d like to share with you:
Ironic- Having Multiples Edition
Miss I’m Never Sick will start feeling bad
but only when your big trip is planned.
THEN sister gets it. Should you take that flight?
You have to cancel plans, and think “Well isn’t this nice…”
And isn’t it ironic… don’t you think
It’s like rain on your errands day
It’s two dirty diapers when you’re already late
It’s singleton advice that for you didn’t work
Who would’ve thought… it figures.
The kids don’t sleep in after staying up late
You cook dinner, and neither kid thinks it’s great.
It’s like ten-thousand toys and they scream for the SAME one
It’s playing with boxes and paper. That’s the most fun.
And isn’t it ironic… don’t you think
A little too ironic… and, yeah, I really do think…
It’s like rain on your errands day
It’s two dirty diapers when you’re already late
It’s singleton advice that for you didn’t work
Who would’ve thought… it figures.
Multiples have a funny way of keeping you on your toes. Multiples have a funny, funny way of changing your plans… Changing your plans…
What are some other Having Multiples Murphy’s Laws???!
THIS. Is my new favorite post — ever. I sang the whole thing in my head. Fave line: It’s two dirty diapers when you’re already late —- HAPPENS EVERY FRICKIN’ TIME.
LOVE THIS.
LOVE this! Hilarious!!!! And all sooo true.
I love it when you finally get both to sleep, one wakes up. It is a very very rare occasion that both my boys nap at the same time!
When my 3 year old starts (an all too rare) nap just as the little girls wake up.
HA HA!!!! I swear, whenever I had somewhere important to be, all four of my girls would go #2 just as we walked out the door!

This is perfect – well done. You are singing the truth! Murphy’s Law gets us EVERY time
This was a great post!! I’ve had the song in my head since I read it the first time so I posted a link to it on my blog.
Very, very creative and clever … and oh so true :)) … especially the singleton advice.
Oh, ditto big time on the singleton advice.

Tigger’s song for twins:
The wonderful thing about twins is twins are wonderful things
Their days are filled with giggles, giggles that turn into wiggles
They’re busy, busy, busy and fun, fun, fun, fun, fun
The most wonderful thing about twins is you aren’t the only one
